China lokt

China !!

Is China uw doelmarkt?

  1. bedrijven met een exportpakket of plannen daarvoor;
  2. bedrijven met voldoende financiële en personele middelen om voor meerdere jaren aaneen investeringen overeenkomstig hun eigen bedrijfsactiviteit te kunnen doen;

China looks inviting

China !!

Such a huge sales market. The prospect of more than 1.2 billion potential customers. Still a strong growth market.

Is China the market you are targeting? Do you want to stay ahead of the competition? Or are you looking for cost advantages and economies of scale?

Incentives abound that will pull you to this market.

One of your business partners told you about the great opportunities lying ahead on the Chinese market, doing business there successfully, and at the same time expanding your activities abroad. You would like to seize these opportunities, but you don't know how to do this and how much it is going to cost you before you have a return on investment. You are still hesitating about getting on the Chinese market, because of existing cultural differences and its opaqueness.

You would rather leave time and trouble to maintain the necessary relations with China to somebody else, since you're busy enough, while at the same time you want to limit the costs with the prospect of a remunerating enterprise or investment.

What would you do in a situation like this?

The next step

Do you already know whether your company is able to achieve a Chinese success? What's the nature of the service Yujie offers? What about the costs of starting a business in China? For an answer to these as well as other questions simply read on.

Attractive to what kind of companies

Transnationals and other larger enterprises already have their own representative offices in China. Bearing the costs of maintaining their own organization inside larger cities with China experts and English speaking employees is no problem for them.

For small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) the Chinese market is no less attractive. The costs and the time needed to get activities started there, causes the market to be less accessible to them. In those circumstances an intermediary can be very useful.

For investors the Chinese market has its attractive features as well.

Back

A good chance of success

It usually takes larger enterprises a lot more effort to succeed, but they hold out the longest. Within SME those companies do have the best of opportunities to succeed that have the following characteristics:

  1. companies with an export package or export plans;
  2. companies with sufficient financial and human resources to be able to make investments for a couple of years in succession in accordance with their own sort of activities;
  3. companies with a lot of know-how and if required reasonably modern technology.

With this kind of input available it is time for a serious market exploration! Some companies experienced difficulties before in getting their product imported into China. These can be avoided - among other options - with a joint venture.

Furthermore, there are various investment trust companies willing to employ their liquid assets for projects bearing a higher risk at a higher rate of return, like the projects that can be found in China. If so, they may choose to make use of less usual advisory channels and still yield a quite profitable result. As long as the interest rate will remain at the current extremely low level, this option continues to be attractive.

Back

Supply and demand

The number of Chinese counterparts willing to go ahead with foreign know-how and technology is quite large. Objectives and expectations with the respective parties often differ widely. Many contacts still find their way through government, which has to approve or to sanction the cooperation with foreign partners. Such a process of negotiations with the parties involved before arriving at this point often takes the necessary time, but in the end one always gains a clear understanding of what kind of business these parties have to offer.

In a situation like this, the intermediary tries to bring the two main parties together, while attuning supply and demand. The value added of this service is reflected by the extent in which the intermediary succeeds to make both positions come together and has the communication running smoothly all the time.

The services

Yujie offers a whole process of intermediation and advice, but also market research and translation services. During this process you ask your own questions and supply the information necessary to be able to approach the parties in China. The support may be seen as complete, starting from the initial contacts with the Chinese partners up to a successful ending of a project or for as long as it takes in the case of a joint venture. Yujie maintains all necessary relations with China, overcomes language and culture barriers, while in the mean time you are thinking about your wishes and plans related to the activities on the spot.

This naturally includes matchmaking and a thorough screening of partners.

In the first instance Yujie focuses its activities on infrastructural projects, starting from the assumption that projects in this field clear the way for projects in other sectors. Yujie is also taking part in sectors like: the building industry, building materials, mechanics & electronics, environmental technology, food, agro-industry, chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

Chartering a China consultant

"The European business instinct knows how to make a deal anywhere. A bit of pioneering, adjusting to circumstances, and the product just sells automatically. Wide knowledge of culture and market conditions may be omitted as long as the knowledge of one's own product is simply adequate."

Large and small European companies alike found out that really a lot more is required in order to be successful in China. It is always a pleasure to know right from the start how exactly things tend to go on a foreign market like that, so as to know how to achieve your targets sooner and in a more direct way. Given the number of interesting opportunities on the Chinese market it is of the utmost importance to make the most of them within the shortest space of time possible.

In such circumstances the costs of advice and mediation outweigh those of the considerable time and effort that are needed to discover how to get there by yourself. Each company may in close consultation opt for a special arrangement with regard to the method of payment. In addition, you'll be informed at an early stage about what will be charged. An offer free of engagement may give you a better idea of the costs and expenses of a certain project.

Exploring the opportunities of a foreign market is in itself already important enough to be regarded as a separate corporate activity. Not the sort of thing you just do extra in between. When the knowledge required for this kind of activity is not available at a company, it naturally may opt to engage a third party yet on its own account, and still be able to meet its market goals set beforehand. After all, a company expects quality from all its suppliers, so do its customers. The chartering of professionals in this field means an end to a missing link in a complete corporate chain driven by the urge prevailing in recent years for a perfect product that comes up to the highest standards (TQM).

Furthermore, the services of a China consultant are directly related to the added value which your company expects to realise and therefore easily contribute in part to your company profits.

What do you want to achieve in China?

Naturally, you already formulated in your (export) policy plan your targets with the desired time schedule:

Did you consider all the operational aspects in your plans in order to meet your targets on time?

Perhaps you did already encounter all sorts of problems in this field, you cannot get the message across and you have no idea about how much progress you've made, so you don't know where you stand.

Under these circumstances one may ask you the following questions:

Do you want to get more result from your efforts towards the Chinese market?
Do you want to avoid the possibility of meeting with future unpleasant surprises?
Do you want someone at your side who is just as familiar with European business practices & culture
as with those in China, and still knows how to promote your interests?
Do you want someone who can communicate with you equally well as with the Chinese potential partners
and yet let them have your needs and wishes included into their considerations, and give them their full weight
    as well?

The knowledge and experience to get at this stage requires a professional background and with that goes a systematic approach.

Why continue trying to achieve something in a haphazard way? Get rid as much as possible of the uncertainty found in a market where certainties are not widely available!

With Yujie Services by your side you may achieve the maximum attainable on the Chinese market.
